How to reach your goals in the new year

Hello, hello, happy new year and welcome back, dear reader

I hope you had the best of times – or made the best of times for yourself under circumstances you might be in.

I am happy you are back, and I would like to assume that – even though you might not be fully back yet – you have rolled up your sleeves, stand up to the New Year and shout out:

Bring it on, Baby! I’m ready for you!

No doubt there will be doubts attached to that, maybe fears too, and your ego shouting all those well-known, overused “Let’s keep ourselves stuck” sentences. But I tell you what: As long as you firmly stand your ground, and keep your eye on the treasure, the ego can throw a tantrum as much as it wants – you’ll be seeing it through anyways, and practically show it the middle finger. Or both.

Now, starting with the New Year, I thought we start with outcome settings.

Do you have a specific dream that you’d finally like to achieve this year? A dream you have dreamt for quite a while but just don’t seem to be able to bring into reality?

Now, I’d like to take you with me on an adventure today. Let’s go on a treasure hunt, what do you think?

Very much like an octopus uses ink to obfuscate their surroundings, our ego does the same with all those unwanted, keeping us stuck thoughts. But when you stay focused on a specific plan of action to reach your goal/outcome, even the thickest cloud of ink will dilute and eventually clear, and you will find your way through, and you will see a glimpse of the treasure ahead of you.

Stay focused on what truly matters.

On your way to your treasure, you will find many diversions, distractions, and new ways. Choose wisely and learn to distinguish between them and identify the distractions. They are absolutely necessary AT TIMES – they give our brain breathing, or rather thinking, space, but they should not be overtaking the path.

The same goes for the other way round: Being rigidly fixated on the path ahead and pressing forward without a break, doesn’t do any good as well. Quite the opposite might happen: Your whole goal that you want to achieve, will sink into the depth of the ocean to never see the sunlight again.

Be flexible like a Kraken’s arms.

As an octopus effortlessly glides through the waters, so should your actions be towards your treasure. Align your efforts to your desired outcome.

Go with the flow, and obstacles will become just a wee bump along the way. Imagine how an octopus glides over them – just like that.

Be as curious and un-bothered as the octopus.

And along the way, take the help from your surroundings. Orient yourself, refocus, get back on your course, and use techniques that will for sure bring you to your goal, like my Outcome Setting Coaching.

That’s it for this time, and I wish you the most A-MA-ZING time, dear reader.

Yours truly, Heike 🤘🌊🐙🌊🤘
